2.5 stars. Competent, at times quite engaging writing. I genuinely liked the main characters (except for when some of their clever banter made me grind my teeth). What is keeping this book from 3 stars is simply my dismay at some of the plot elements. I found the villain, and their motive, to be just too weird. And the motivation for the motive was disturbing beyond belief. I don't know. The solution satisfied all the requirements, I just wasn't sold on it all, I guess. Still, I did like the chemistry between Beatrice & Devlin. And Robert, while a bit inconsistently handled, could be pretty endearing. Not a bad book for a quick weekend read.
