Fated - Rebecca Zanetti To be fair, I only made it a quarter of the way through. The prose wasn't engaging, the dialogue was beyond stilted at times, I didn't care for the characters, and seriously, a HAND PRINT mark? Also, the hero can paralyze (some?) of the bad guys with a thought, but fights them anyway. Until he doesn't want to any more, then he freezes them and kills them. Because otherwise the fight scenes are totally unnecessary, and who wouldn't want more fight scenes where a "dark blur" keeps coming to save the heroine? I threw my hands up at that point and admitted defeat. I was in the mood for a slightly cracky read. This seemed to fit the bill at first, but then it just became too much. A total PNR bodice-ripper, you know, if there were bodices. Not my cuppa, unfortunately.
